The first day of camp is always a bit busy but we have sign-in well organized and the process should move smoothly.
Camp runs for the following weeks:
July 3-6 (starts on Tuesday)
We have a few afternoon spots if you are interested in staying for a full day of camp but most of our weeks are now sold out. THANK YOU!
The leaders for this summer are Jess, Katie, Allison, Hannah, Tyler and Stephen. We also have some wonderful student volunteers who are active in the arts and musical theatre joining us too! At least two of our on-site leaders are certified in First Aid and CPR ‘Level C’ training. Safety is always a primary concern for all of our campers and staff.
Camp is located at All Saints’ Kingsway Anglican Church at 2850 Bloor Street West and Prince Edward Drive. Please enter off the parking lot and head down the stairs.The church kindly asks that we do not park in reserved spots along the wall of the church even if only to drop off or pick up your child. There is street parking available. THE CHURCH FIRMLY ENFORCES THIS RULE.
Camp begins at 9 a.m. and runs to 4 p.m. daily. The doors will open at 8:55 a.m. daily.
The morning session runs from 9 a.m. – 12 noon.
The afternoon session runs from 1-4 p.m.
If you have registered for After Care, we will be in the PARISH HALL until 5 p.m.
WE WILL ALL MEET IN THE PARISH HALL IN THE BASEMENT TO START THE DAY. PICK UP AT THE END OF THE DAY IS FROM THE HALL TOO.
SIGNING IN AND OUT
All parents and caregivers are asked to sign in and out with their child’s leader each day so we can ensure that all children are safe at all times. If someone other than yourself will be picking up your child at the end of camp, please let us know. If you have special custody or parenting arrangements which may impact who your child is allowed to go home with, please advise us.
WHAT SHOULD MY CHILD WEAR AND PACK?
Please put sunscreen on your child and/or pack sunscreen and a hat as we will be spending time outdoors (weather permitting) in ‘The Secret Garden’ beside the church.
Dress for mess – we do have smocks but there is a good chance your child might get glue, glitter or paint on their clothes.
Running shoes are great for camp as we will be active and busy being dramatic.
Please ensure all food is nut-free. If you are spending the day with us, please pack a good lunch for your child. If you are spending a half day with us, please pack snacks. We find the children drink a lot of water throughout the day so please also ensure they have enough to drink. While we are a strict nut-free program, the church is not a nut-free space. We do have children with severe allergies to peanuts, tree nuts, sesame and egg so please be aware in advance.
We will be making our own pizza lunch on Friday with our full-day campers! VERY IMPORTANT: IF YOUR CHILD HAS ANY FOOD SENSITIVITIES, PLEASE LET US KNOW.
WAIVER AND BEHAVIOURAL POLICY
Attached is our 2018 WAIVER that all campers must have on file with us at camp. Please bring it with you on the first day of camp. We will have extra copies on hand too. It is critical that all parents/caregivers submit this form as it lists emergency contact information. If you attended March Break camp earlier this year, we will have your waiver on file. Please also read our BEHAVIOURAL POLICY and inform us if there are concerns that our staff should know about in advance.
If you have not yet paid, please bring a cheque made out to Suitcase Theatre on the first day of camp or exact cash. We are also able to accept e-transfers to firstname.lastname@example.org. You may email us and we can let you know what is owed. Thank you.
If your child will be away for a day, please let Jess Vandenberg, the Camp Director know by texting or calling 647-654-7529. You may also email her email@example.com.
If you find the door closed upon your arrival, please text or call 647-832-4572 and we will come and open it.
